Telangana's motor insurance policy goes online



Engine protection approaches in Telangana will now be issued electronically, Irdai has said.

The move is a stage towards making it a bother free ordeal for vehicle proprietors and enhancing the consistence level.

"As a major aspect of advanced activity, all engine protection arrangements, particularly in Telangana, will be issued in the electronic structure with a brisk reaction (QR) code for simplicity of confirmation by authorization offices," the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (Irdai) said in a notice.



Insurance agencies can issue the strategy through their gateways or tie up with protection stores.

A SMS will be sent to the enrolled versatile number of the policyholder on the issuance of the e-engine strategy.

The state government, in a joint effort with Irdai, the Insurance Information Bureau of India and the protection business, has chosen to execute the strategy from January 2.



"These arrangements can be issued online the nation over, preparing for a large group of advantages such as speedier issuance, evacuation of misrepresentation, higher consumer loyalty, disposal of income spillages, examination etc," Irdai said.

"The achievement of this activity will go far in expansion of this office to whatever is left of the nation," it included.

Telangana is the first state to formally perceive an electronic engine protection strategy.



Driving an engine vehicle without protection is a culpable offense under the Motor Vehicle Act, 1988.
